During the OFC exhibition held in March 2022, Broadcom showcased its new product BCM87412 based on the 112G PAM4 DSP platform, which claims to have the highest level of CMOS integration, superior performance, and low power consumption. It also integrates TIA and high swing laser driver， and supports 400G DR4/FR4 modules with power consumption below 7W. Compared with the common 9W power consumption products in the industry, this new Broadcom product provides the industry's lowest pJ /bit performance supporting an unprecedented reduction in power consumption for super data centers and cloud computing providers.

At the O FC site, Broadcom demonstrated the 400G / 800G optical module products with built-in BCM87412 solution from several module manufacturers. These module manufacturers include Eoptolink, Molex, Source Source Photonics, Accelink, AOI, and Hisense. Broadcom said that it will continue to promote the next-generation PAM4 DSP innovation, and the launch of the BCM87412 responds to the industry's demand for lower power consumption.
